Do The Right Thing

With the recent shakeup in the Federal Government regarding "OSHA overreach" discussions on Capitol Hill, the safety priorities should not change for any business owner. Anyone who puts people over profit in my book is Doing The Right Thing. Ofcourse there is a common sense approach to the business and you don't want to give away the farm, but safety does not need to be as expensive as you think. Common roof anchors with rope and rope grab and a harness in fall restraint on a steep pitch roof is relatively cheap insurance to prevent an injury or death. Or even on a flat roof situation, using a Class II Self-Retracting Lifeline, an anchor point and harness with warning lines is not that expensive to do.

A majority of the issue is not knowing the rules and guidelines for fall protection or any other CFR compliance area. The balance of the equation is proper training and compliance auditing.
